used_friendship | 004: Video / Action 4th Wall!

[The Pokegear feed's point of view is a little wobbly as it switches on, the reason soon becoming apparent as Gama-chan, Naruto's Politoed appears on the screen with a whole bunch of little Poliwags behind him.

Suddenly looking excited about something he begins to hop along, the gang of Pokemon following him as he turns the camera around to focus it on Naruto.]

--Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!

[Suddenly, instead of one Naruto, there are a whole group of them.]

Yosh! Right, everyone's gotta take a pokemon and some Pokeballs, we're gonna have a Poke-Battle Royale! The me that catches the most Pokemon is the ultimate me and gets the last bowl of Mom's home-cooked ramen! Time to decide on the best of the best!

Ready..... GO!

[After a lot of cheering from the group of clones, they all rush off to pick all but one of the Poliwags and scatter in various directions, leaving the original Naruto in his original spot.]

C'mon Gama-chan, Gamikichi! It'll be embarrassing if the original loses to his clones!

[ooc note: The original Naruto is on Route 31 just outside of Violet, but you can run into his clones all over the place.]

Itachi told me that they've been talking, after I last saw Sasuke I mean.

Oh, that. Yeah I know they have.

That means that he's putting himself back together, instead of making himself worse.

Yeah. Itachi's a really great guy, he'll figure it out. Sasuke too, I ain't worried.

Itachi grew up really well.

[He shook his head.] I still have trouble getting my head around him being older than me.

It's weird to think that here my Mom and Dad are only like.. ten years older than me.

[And then he screwed up his face.]

Sorry, it's even weirder to think of Kakashi as older than me. He's nearly a year younger than me okay?

No he's not, he's like.. forty or something.

[He made a face.]

Okay, yes, I met that one and he was creepy.

Yep. He also said you're why he's not dead and was surprised I didn't know you as some hero.

Oh.. well yeah, I guess I sort of am now after the Konoha stuff.

You never really mentioned that you know. [He waved his hand to the side a little.]

None of you guys know about it apart from Shino and Sakura-chan, and they were there, so.

Everyone was freaking out enough already about stuff, what would they do if I told them that Konoha was sorta destroyed?

[He winced. Okay, that was a point. The idea of Konoha destroyed was kind of physically painful.]

...No one actually mentioned that part before.

Yeah, when Akatsuki attacked, they destroyed the whole village and I mean literally, it was just a pile of dirt. A ton of people died but after I talked to the guy that did it, he changed his mind and revived them.

[Long story short.]

[Really short there Naruto. Too short? Probably. It got all the details across though. Yes, the place had been destroyed, no, the people weren't lost because of it. Okay then.]

He was Jiraiya-sensei's student once, just like me. The first book he wrote was based on stuff Nagato said and I got my name from the main character, Naruto, who had the guts never to give up.

[There's a short pause- for once Naruto looks entirely serious and determined.]

Through that book he changed, and decided to trust that I would end the cycle of hatred, and never give up. 'cause that's what my master and sibling disciple entrusted me with.

It's... a really good book. [He's studying you now Naruto, and he has a look on his face that says he's not sure he ever really looked at you before.

Maybe, somewhere in his mind, he'd done the same stupid things people tended to do to him when they didn't look hard enough. He should know better.]

And that's a really good thing to have taken away from it.

I'm glad there's someone like you around if I'm gone and can't do that stuff myself.

Well- yeah. It's not just me though, I've got a lotta people that are important to me, helping me. [He hasn't forgotten those last words Itachi said to him before coming here.]

I didn't mean you were doing it on your own. I meant... well, I meant that maybe it's a really good thing that they have someone to inspire them, since it sounds like you do that.

That's all. [He hitched up his shoulder in a shrug and looked away.]

Oh. Well I dunno if I do that or not.. [He's never really thought of it like that.]

You really didn't hear how that future Kakashi talked about you. I'd only ever heard him be that respectful about Sensei before.

Sure, things might have changed for him but... it was still there.

[After hearing that, Naruto can't help but smile. It's that kind of smile one gets when they are praised by someone they really try to impress.]

Once he told me he thought I would be the only one to surpass the Fourth. Kakashi-sensei's pretty awesome.

[He looked sideways at him, and a little smile touched his lips.]

Well... he is my teammate.
