[It's late in the evening and thankfully Naruto is not yelling through the Pokegear for once. In fact he isn't anywhere near as energetic as he usually is.]

Y'know when you can't contact someone on the Pokegear thingies and some of their Pokemon have been sat in your room starin' at you most the evening, that usually means the person's gone right?

[She looks... upset, but she's trying to hide it. She was never terribly close to Kushina herself, but someone going home -- let alone a family member -- is obviously Not A Good Thing.

But to business.]

Do you know, did she have a Gyarados? Naed Ketsui? She showed up in my box, and I'm not sure who else she could have come from....

Yeah, I think that's one of hers too.

[He moves the camera a little, showing the Infernape and Lucario.]

These two are with me, most the other ones showed up with Dad at the same time, so.

I'm glad they'll have a good home.

[It doesn't seem fair, in a way, that someone can put so much effort into Pokémon and suddenly in the blink of an eye, go home and leave them with someone else.]

...D'you want her? Ketsui, I mean. Considering that her trainer's your mom...

[He thinks about it for a second before shaking his head.]

Nah. I mean-- I reckon they went to different people for a reason, right? Plus I know you'll look after it.

I will, I'll keep training her hard.

...Are you going to be okay, Rookie?

I know you will. [All of Tenten's pokemon are really awesome.

He nods at the camera.]

Yeah, I'll be fine.

[It sucks but lets be honest-- he's had a lot of things to deal with that were shittier than this in his life.]

Okay.

[She tries for a smile anyway.]

I know I'm not the only one saying so, especially with your dad there, but if you need someone to talk to... we're still comrades, after everything, so I'll listen.

[Maybe not listen all that well, but she'd try. Because nakama.]

Yeah. Thanks, Tenten.

[He really does appreciate it a lot. The fact that he has friends who care about him, and because of that it means he just doesn't have it in his heart to remain completely sad.]
