[It is early in the evening when he finally begins to stir. A hand slowly reaches up to rub at tired eyes as they blink into focus, Naruto staring up at the ceiling above him. Immediately he frowns as memories of new and old jumble together. It had felt like a dream, though it couldn't have been. Why didn't he have chakra? Oh yeah- Johto.

Feeling the presence of someone else in the room distracts him as he turns his head to the side, immediately greeted with the sight of long, flowing red hair.]

....So when are we going to Violet? [You hit hard enough to knock him out Mom, he'll concede this time.]

[A little time later the Pokegear shows Naruto sat on a bed as an excitable Carnivine is wrapped around his shoulders, happily chewing on his head once again. Some things never change!]

So--yeah. I guess that thing happened to me, y'know, when people fall asleep and have the dreams? But they're not real dreams? [Descriptive as always. On that subject though, there are some people he wants to talk to. He should probably send them some private messages.]

Oi Neji. Sasuke. I wanna talk to you guys.

[...Or just do it that way instead. He has a pretty serious look about him for once, so they should probably get in contact with him.]

[With a huff he moves around and attempts to unwrap the Carnivine from around him. Since he has it on, he may as well ask that question he had before the coma stuff happened.]

I'm still gonna go check out that dragon place up here, the one Tenten told me about. What's the best dragon type out there? I have Ryūka-chan already, she's a Charizard now and she's grown really strong.

Well when they showed up on the battlefield, they showed up with you. So obviously future-you knows about it! And I heard something about Orochimaru being involved.

And, uh. Itachi knows too, since he was like... sorta brought back with it.

[Waiting for the inevitable fallout, but he warned you bro.]

[Orochimaru and... His brother was brought back with it?

Wait. Itachi was brought back with it.

He's tense, his eyes focused on a patch of floor away from the camera as the realization hits him. But that could only mean...

When he speaks again, it's in a tone barely above a whisper that both masks and betrays just how much emotion is behind it.]

... Who killed him?

[You know, he actually throws his hands up in the air at that. He really did not want to go down this route, and apparently Sasuke didn't even know Itachi had died? He figured he would have found out, all that time they spent together here.]

Didn't he tell you anything? What did he tell you when he was here?

[Do you see that grimace, Naruto? Sasuke isn't able to hide it anymore, feeling more angry and vulnerable as the conversation goes on.]

Answer me! Who killed Uchiha Itachi, Naruto!?

[God he just KNOWS he has put his foot in it BIG TIME now and there is no way he can get out of this.

He's going to have to tell him.

Okay. Deep breath.]

[A few seconds pass where Sasuke forgets to breathe, and if it weren't for Sasuke's face on the video it'd be easy to think that the feed was cut just from how silent he is at the time. He... Killed Itachi.

He succeeded?

But...]

I killed him.

[The words are quiet, a stark contrast from the shouting he had been doing just a few seconds before. He has to take in that he does in fact succeed, but Itachi never told him and... His family was avenged but... With what he knew about the massacre then...]

...Yeah.

[Dammit, Itachi. He really wishes now he had at least known that Itachi never said a thing. He only told Naruto to keep quiet about the Edo-Tensei, not everything before it.

And he knows how hard it hit Sasuke, finding out the truth having been the one to kill him. He saw it with his own eyes and for once, he's actually being quiet and studying his friend's reaction.]

I wouldn't have just said it like that if I knew he hadn't told you any of it.

[For a long time he can't bring himself to reply. It takes ages for him to finally talk to Naruto again, his head bowed as he just looks at his lap and not at the pokegear's lens at all.]

... Do you know why he did it, Naruto? Why he killed the clan?

...Yeah. I know about it.

[He doesn't say anything else, waiting to see what else Sasuke wanted to ask of him.]

... It's strange. For so long... I thought revenge was all I ever wanted. That, if he died at my hands, I could finally move on.

[And, unfortunately, something in his tone betrays that he doesn't feel that way anymore.]

[Naruto already knows. He witnessed Sasuke's reaction to it back home, and he definitely did not move on.]

Yeah. But you didn't know, about all that stuff with Konoha, and your clan.

No. I didn't.

[He wouldn't have wanted to know, but at the same time he's glad he knows now. Now he knows that his hatred of his brother is wrong, that Itachi always was the same brother, but at the same time he still kills him in the end while knowing nothing about why his family really died...]

You're not mad at me for not telling you, are ya? I thought you knew it all, already.

... I should be.

[But really, he's not. He's more hurt and confused. He feels that he can understand why they wouldn't want him to know that. It's a horrible thing that he would do, even if only a few months ago he would have felt justified completely in doing so. Knowing that it happens now though...

It just shakes his perspective more, knowing that he'll bring himself to almost senselessly murder his brother in the future.]

[Naruto cannot even begin to imagine what hearing news like that would be like. It's terrible, though it also makes him sympathetic, that the two brothers had to go through so much.]

I know you probably don't wanna talk about it, but if you do. Y'know? [He'll listen.]
